Tips for Smart Shopping during the Christmas Sales!

It seems like we have been in months of sales already and we haven't even hit the big Boxing Day Bonanza. Whilst sales are fun and its great to get a bargain, it's important not to get carried away with the excitement of it all and buy things we don't really want or need.

So when is a bargain really a bargain? When you have had your eye on a garment and it has gone on sale, or you have been looking for a pant/shirt/top or accessory 'just like that one'.

Shopping smart is the best way to feel good in what you are wearing and ensure you get your moneys worth. When hitting the sales - its really important to have a list and to shop with purpose and intention. This means shopping because you need or want a specific item, and you know for what purpose or for what occasions you will wear the item.

If you do see something amazing while you are at the shops thats not on your list, remember to ask yourself "will this go with a least 3 other things in my wardrobe". If the answer is yes, you know you will wear it. and if you love it you should buy it. Most importantly you don't want orphans in your wardrobe that looked great in the shop, but don't go with anything else or fit your lifestyle / career needs.

Also, don't fall into the trap of buying something that doesn't fit well or is the wrong size, just because it is heavily reduced. If it doesn't fit well and flatter your shape it has no place in your wardrobe.

So shop with intention and purpose and carefully evaluate the usefulness and wardrobe fit of those apparent "bargains" and you won't go wrong.
